First Aid and CPR Training

Being able to respond to emergencies is a valuable life skill, and during your First Aid and CPR training you will learn these skills. The First Response International Adult and Child Emergency Care (ACEC) course is perfect both for newcomers to the area as well as those wishing to refresh their skills and knowledge.

You start with eLearning or reading as well as watching a series of short videos. During the class we start by discussing theory and current guidance by governing bodies like ILCOR and OSHA. However, you will spend the majority of the time practicing crucial rescue skills. You will learn how to assess the scene of an incident and decide the best course of action. Applying CPR at the ideal rate and strength to help a non-breathing victim is another key part.

You will also learn to deal with the ‘Six Basics’: Breathing, Bleeding, Broken, Burns, Bites and Blows. In each of these aspects of first aid, layperson rescuers can greatly support someone in need. This allows the victim to be as comfortable as possible until professional medical help is available, if neeeded.

Naturally, you will apply your First Aid and CPR training skills to diving situations. We will discuss and practice the best course of action for dealing with diving-related incidents, including DCI, marine life injuries or slipping and tripping accidents. Being able to deal with those is important for any (technical) diver

Throughout the course, you will also learn how to protect yourself from harm and how to safely help others during the coronavirus pandemic. We will tailor the course to your local environment, wherever  possible, giving you a range of practical tips and tricks you can use straight away.

As a technical, CCR or solo diver you need to apply more than diving skills and theory.

Making decisions in stressful situations, working in a team and communicating effectively – in short, non-technical skills – are all part of our courses.

Therefore, we recommend the micro-class offered by The Human Diver as pre-learning for our courses. Contact us to receive a 20% discount.
