Instructor Trainer Yvonne Press

Based in Gozo, Malta, I am a TDI instructor trainer and technical diving instructor to the level of hypoxic trimix on open circuit. I am also a Mod 1 CCR instructor on the Kiss Sidewinder the AP Diving Inspiration unit and Mod 3 diver.

Tech diving has been my focus since 2015. A diver since 2003 and a dive professional since 2009, I first became a technical diver in 2011 in Scotland, where I was working as a recreational diving instructor at the time. Why? Tech divers were discovering new wrecks in the 40 to 60 m range, and I felt that I wanted to be in on the action! Trips to Scapa Flow followed to explore the German WWI wrecks.

Between 2014 and 2022 I lived in Asia, diving mostly in Indonesia. Bali and Sulawesi were among my favorites. Having taken my passion for technical diving with me to Asia, I trained as a TDI and PADI TecRec instructor as well as a full cave diver in 2015 in Thailand. Since then, I’ve rarely been seen diving a single tank and continue to add to my own skills.

In 2021, I got the opportunity to join RAID as Instructor Examiner. In late 2022, I relocated back to Europe and now spend most of my time diving the beautiful blue waters of Malta.

I’ve also had opportunities to present during the TekDive Conference at the Singapore dive show ADEX in 2019 and 2020. Feel free to check out my contributions to Scuba Diver Life, too.

In Gozo, I’m focusing on teaching technical diving on open circuit and rebreather as well as related courses at diver and instructor level and conducting instructor exams. I also love guiding qualified tech divers on experience dives. I have to admit to a very soft spot for sidemount diving and loving the XDeep Stealth harnesses.

Our Location

Gozo is one of the Maltese islands, located right in the Mediterranean Sea, south of the coast of Sicily.

These islands offer amazing topography, breathtaking shipwrecks, and clear, blue waters that you can explore across a wide variety of dive sites. Many of the dives are accessible from shore. Some of the deeper wrecks require a boat.

Diving here is somewhat seasonal. Weather and water conditions are generally favorable from April to October. Diving outside of these months becomes a little less predictable. You often find the best conditions for technical diving toward the beginning and the end of the ‘season.’

Although we are based on Gozo, we can also arrange diving on Malta.

Need accommodation and airport transfers? Just let us know, and we’re happy to provide suggestions for you.

Can't make it to Gozo?

I'm happy to travel to your location, provided you are able to cover travel and accommodation expenses. Just get in touch to discuss your requirements, and we can take it from there!

Accommodation and Transfers

Throughout the area, there are hotels, homestays and bungalows, some of them in walking distance to the beach. We can recommend a place or arrange accommodation for you.

If you’d like to stay a little more central, we can pick you up and drop you off or arrange a rental scooter. Grab and GoJek do not currently operate in the area, but private taxis can be arranged.

We can also arrange your transfer from Bali Airport or any other part of Bali.
