TDI Cavern Diver

Whether you’re sure about embarking on overhead diving or just want to find out if diving in caves might be for you – the TDI Cavern Diver course is a great place to start. This course gives you the tools, skills and knowledge you need to explore overhead environments safely, all while staying within the light zone.

Even though you may be diving in a dark space, you only need to turn around to see where the exit out of the cavern is. You’ll develop your skills within the light penetration zone, gradually growing more comfortable before progressing to actual cave diving.

Think of cavern diving as the foundation to further overhead exploration. Dive planning, procedures, techniques and hazards are all part of the course. The best of it all – even if you’re unsure that cave diving is for you or simply don’t like the idea of descending into some of the darkest places on earth, the Cavern Diver course will teach you new skills and help you improve your overall diving skills, including buoyancy, stability and trim.

The TDI Cavern Diver course includes a thorough session on equipment options, no matter which configuration you’re using. That’s when we set up your lights, spools, reel and markers and fine-tune your existing setup. We’ll also be practicing line-laying skills on land before transfering them to the water.

Beyond Diving Skills

As a technical, CCR or solo diver you need to apply more than diving skills and theory.

Making decisions in stressful situations, working in a team and communicating effectively – in short, non-technical skills – are all part of our courses.

Therefore, we recommend the micro-class offered by The Human Diver as pre-learning for our courses. Let us know when you sign up and claim back 20% of the microclass cost off your course.
