Choosing Course and Location

Choosing the specific course and location for your technical diving training might sound daunting. However, remember technical diving is a journey, and part of the adventure is discovering new places and picking up new skills.

Ideally, you would train where you later plan to dive. However, sometimes that is not the solution. Training in warm water, for example, of means more practice time. If you then plan to dive cold water, however, you will need transition dives. Check out our Facebook Live chat with Mark Powell for a more in-depth discussion.

Course and location choice is often secondary to finding the right instructor. Training is challenging and will push you beyond your comfort zone. Being with someone you trust is key. Be sure to ask plenty of questions of your potential tech instructor. It’s the best way of finding out whether you ‘click’.
