We have reopened – that’s the big news shared in our July newsletter! If you haven’t received it in your inbox, just head back to the news & blog page of the Dark Horizon Diving website to subscribe.
Of course, this does not yet mean that things are back to normal. After all, not many of you can travel as yet. However, we’ve had the opportunity to teach people still in Bali. We are also looking forward to receiving students and tech divers from inside Indonesia when domestic tourism opens up again on 31 July.
According to the Balinese governor’s plan, international tourists are allowed back from 11 September 2020. We understand that this depends on a number of other factors still, but we certainly welcomed the good news. Even a small return of tourism means an income not only for dive centres, but for our support staff, for porters at the dive sites, drivers, restaurants etc.
Quite a few people! This means that we do need to change the way we are working to keep divers, staff and others safe. We have introduced a number of disinfection and distancing measures which are detailed in the July newsletter. Those measures will be reviewed regularly, and we expect them to change as more information and guidance becomes available.
In the meantime, please do feel free to email us with questions.
Last, but not least, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who chose to support us by taking up eLearning opportunities, tuning into video-based presentations and sharing and liking posts – or just checking in. All of it has been much appreciated!
