Sidemount Instructor
The TDI sidemount instructor course in Gozo, Malta teaches candidates how to train sidemount divers. Many candidates combine it with our basic TDI instructor package to be able to train tech divers in both twinsets and sidemount.
If this is your first TDI instructor-level course, we will start by covering the history of TDI’s parent company International Training Inc. We will then review general training standards and TDI’s philosophy, including how best to teach sidemount divers. In addition, we discuss the business side of (technical) sidemount diving and risk management.
Once ready, candidates start giving their own academic presentations. Following on from that, we focus on the practical aspects of sidemount diving. Equipment configuration and setup workshops are two of those. The largest part of your TDI sidemount instructor course is spent in-water, including skill circuits and teaching presentations.

Beyond Diving Skills
As a technical diving instructor you apply and teach more than diving skills and theory.
Making decisions in stressful situations, working in a team and communicating effectively – in short, non-technical skills – are all part of the courses you teach and are crucial to your students’ success.
Therefore, all of our instructor training courses include the micro-class offered by The Human Diver as mandatory pre-learning for your instructor level training.
