Diving Insurance
We recommend that each diver carries diving insurance for tech diving to the level of diving they plan on doing with us or training for. We can offer insurance that covers technical diving activities through DiveAssure. You can register directly before arrival by clicking here, or find out more information first on DiveAssure’s website here.
Options include covering single trips or a full year, depending on whether you are planning a one-off dive trip or will need regular cover. Both of those you can arrange before joining us in Bali. They will cover you for completing our diver courses, instructor training programme or other technical diving activities.
If you are unsure which diving insurance to choose for your technical diving course or experience dives you can also wait until you are here with us. DiveAssure allows us to arrange day-to-day cover on the spot in our dive centre. This is a great solution to cover, for example, a 2-3 day introductory programme like our Intro to Tech or basic Sidemount course or a single day CCR Discovery programme.
DiveAssure also offer great value for money travel insurance.
Medical Facilities in Bali
There are currently two recompression chambers in Bali, but treatment is generally contingent on providing a funding source, i.e. insurance or credit card. Failing to show this may delay your treatment, which can negatively influence your chances of recovery from, for instance, DCS.
Treatment can also be costly. As an example, a single recompression treatment may cost as much as Rp 45,000,000 / USD 3,200.
Around the Amed / Tulamben area, there are medical practices of a basic level. The nearest, more advanced facility is about 20-30 minutes’ drive away in the town of Amlapura. In the south of Bali, there are several well-equipped private hospitals.
