Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures Instructor

Our TDI instructor training package in Gozo, Malta prepares you to teach the foundations of tech diving under the TDI diver training system. This includes the Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures programmes.

Apart from specifics relating to the individual courses or course combinations, we will cover the history of TDI’s parent company International Training Inc., general training standards and philosophy including how best to teach technical divers, the business side of technical diving and risk management.

In addition, we will review technical diving theory before candidates give their own academic presentations. By far the largest part of your TDI instructor training is spent in-water. We generally start with skill circuits before moving on to in-water teaching presentations and decompression dives. Wherever possible, our instructor courses are taught using real students who are really learning a particular skillset.

We also spend time considering the specific environment and logistics within which our instructor candidates are planning to teach, allowing them to customise their own TDI courses right from the start. TDI’s curriculum offers instructors a great deal of flexibility, allowing you to make your courses fit your students’ needs.

Beyond Diving Skills

As a technical diving instructor you apply and teach more than diving skills and theory.

Making decisions in stressful situations, working in a team and communicating effectively – in short, non-technical skills – are all part of the courses you teach and are crucial to your students’ success.

Therefore, all of our instructor training courses include the micro-class offered by The Human Diver as mandatory pre-learning for your instructor level training.
